Libre Office contains some useful features and this tutorial will look at conditional formatting. Conditional formatting simply allows you to change the content or style of a spreadsheet cell based on specific conditions you create.
There are various types of conditional formatting which can be used and the type used depends on the content of your spreadsheet cells.
Conditional formatting types:
- General condition
- Colour scale
- Data bar
- Icon set
- Date
Listed above are the main types of conditional formatting which can be used in Libre Office.
At DCP we mainly use conditional formatting to quickly apply to cells, colouring based on specified conditions.
For example, if a column contains a list of prices we can apply a formatting condition that changes the colour of a cell to red if the price is less than £100.00 or change the colour of a cell to green if the price is greater than £200.00.
This is a basic example of conditional formatting but if you view the video tutorial above you can see some more useful examples.
