Why creating Strong Passwords is Important
Creating strong passwords is essential for protecting your online accounts and personal information from cyber threats.
Weak passwords are easy for hackers to guess or crack using automated tools. A strong password, made up of a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters, adds a layer of security, making it much harder for attackers to gain access.
Using unique, complex passwords helps prevent identity theft, data breaches, and unauthorised access to sensitive information.
What to so if your Password has been Compromised
If your password has been compromised, act quickly to secure your account.
Immediately change the password to a strong, unique one that hasn’t been used elsewhere.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security where possible. Review account activity for any suspicious actions and log out of all devices.
If the same password was used on other platforms, update those as well. Inform relevant services or contacts if necessary.
Consider using a password manager to help generate and store secure passwords going forward. Stay vigilant for phishing emails or fraud attempts.
FAQs about Password Generator
You can select the desired password length using the slider provided. The tool allows you to generate passwords up to 50 characters long.
For optimal security, we recommend generating passwords that are at least 12–16 characters long, especially if you’re including a mix of character types.
Capital letters refer to uppercase A–Z (e.g. A, B, C, … Z). When enabled, the generated password may include any of these letters.
Yes. Simply toggle the “Include Numbers” option to add digits (0–9) to your generated password.
Special characters include symbols such as !, @, #, $, %, &, *, etc. You can enable this option to increase password complexity.
Absolutely. In fact, including special characters greatly enhances password strength and reduces the risk of brute-force attacks.
Yes. You can disable the options for numbers or special characters to generate passwords using only letters (capital and lowercase).
No. For your privacy and security, we do not store or save any passwords you generate with this tool.
Yes. After generating a password, simply click the “Copy” button (if available) to copy it to your clipboard for easy use.
You can use the password generator as many times as you like, completely free of charge.
You can uncheck the corresponding options for Capital Letters and Special Characters to generate a password using only lowercase letters and numbers (if enabled).
Using a combination of uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters significantly increases the strength and unpredictability of your password, making it more secure.
While this tool doesn’t store passwords, you can paste the copied password into a secure password manager or encrypted file for safekeeping.
In general, you should change your password if:
There’s been a security breach involving a website or service you use
You notice any suspicious activity on your accounts
You’ve shared your password with someone else
You’re reusing the same password across multiple sites
Best Practices:
For critical accounts (like email, banking, or work-related logins), aim to change your password every 3-6 months.
For less sensitive accounts, changing your password once a year may be sufficient – as long as it’s strong and unique.
If you use a password manager with strong, unique passwords for each account, frequent changes are less necessary unless there’s a risk or breach.
Pro Tip:
Instead of changing passwords on a fixed schedule, focus on creating strong, unique passwords and using multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible.
