3D Model Planet Earth – Part 1 – Blender 2.8

In this video tutorial, I will show you how to create Planet Earth using Blender 2.8.

Here are the concepts covered in this video tutorial:

• Download Planet Earth maps
• Create and edit UV sphere
• Create material for the Planet Earth map
• UV unwrap sphere
• Add additional UV sphere for clouds
• Add sunlight
• Change word colour settings
• Add star background
• Change background image emission

We will use a simple sphere to create the Earth’s planet and also use a slightly larger sphere for the clouds.

We will download earth and cloud maps from the NASA website. We will also add a star background and add lighting to create a dark side effect on the planet model.
