In this video tutorial, I will show you how to bulk-schedule social media posts using Hoot Suite.
Hoot Suite is a powerful social media scheduling software application. I use Hoot Suite on a daily basis to schedule social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. The main reason why I use Hoot Suite is that the software allows me to schedule posts 24 hours in advance.
I can also time when content is posted on the various social networks, for example, I may want to post more content during lunchtime and end of work hours. The bulk schedule is created on a daily basis using Open Office Calc. The bulk schedule contains three columns as follows:
- Date and Time
- Post Content
- URL Link

Note: The bulk schedule file needs to be saved in CSV format.
As you can see in the above table I am using #HashTags in the schedule content post examples. If you’re not familiar with #HashTags then you can think of them as categories that can be searched on various social networks. Using #HashTags allows social media followers to find your content more easily.
Note: You will also notice that the URLs have been shortened using Bitly. It is important to shorten URLs if you are planning on posting on Twitter as the URLs can take up a lot of the allocated character spaces.
